This is the gospel of Christ Jesus supported fully by biblical scripture. 

This is a long post and my prayer is that God will move in someone’s heart as they read this. Let’s dive in…

The gospel starts with God’s design, which is a world where everything works beautifully and fits together in perfect harmony.

Genesis 1:31 “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.”

However, God’s design was interrupted by SIN.  Things do not work by the original design when we sin.  When we ignore God and selfishly do things our way, we distort the original design of God.  The consequence of SIN is that we separate our lives from God both in this life and eternally.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of SIN is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

SIN leads to BROKENNESS. You can see this across the world today. When we realize things aren’t working we look for a way out. We go many different directions trying to find a way out, including but not limited to pornography, alcohol, drugs, adultery, over eating, collecting possessions, addictions to work and money, etc. We define ourselves and find comfort within these worldly distractions.

Romans 1:25 “Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.”

At this point, we all need good news, great news in fact, and that is the GOSPEL. Because of his love for us, God did not leave us in this BROKENNESS. He sent Jesus to rescue us from our SIN. Jesus took our sin and our shame to the cross, paying the ultimate penalty for our sin by giving His life on the cross for you and me. Jesus was then raised from the dead, providing the only way for you and me to be rescued and restored to a relationship with God.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Colossians 2:14 “By canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”

Hearing this good news is not enough and requires action from us. We MUST admit our sinful brokenness and accept that we can’t do it on our own and we certainly cannot save ourselves. 

We MUST repent for our sins and ask God for forgiveness. We must turn our backs on our sins and make a change in our life. We must live a life that turns from sin and we must put our trust and faith fully on Jesus. 

We must BELIEVE this gospel and receive our new life from Jesus Christ. Through this repentance and belief, God will give us a new life through him.

Mark 1:15 “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; REPENT and BELIEVE in the Gospel.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by Grace you have been saved through Faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

Romans 10:9 “If you CONFESS with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

With our relationship with God repaired, we can now live and understand our true purpose and meaning in this broken world. We can pursue God’s design and purpose for us. We will stumble, fall, and sin, but we now understand God’s path to restoration and we are forgiven.  God’s spirit empowers us to pursue his design and ensures us of his presence in this life and for all of eternity.

Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

What should you do now? Now that you have heard the full Gospel, it requires a RESPONSE by you. if you believe the message of the gospel, you can respond by praying the following:

Jesus, my life is broken and I realize that it is because of the sin in my life.  I need you Father. I believe that Christ came to live, die, and was raised from the dead to rescue me from my sins. I repent for my sins Lord and ask for your forgiveness of my sins. I turn from my sinful and selfish ways and put my trust and life in your hands Jesus. I know that Jesus is the Lord of all and I will follow you my father. Amen.

Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:13 “For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

That is the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is also now critical to FOLLOW Jesus and become fishers of men. SHARE the gospel. You can share it by copying this post and sharing it across social media outlets, copy it into a text or email and send to a good friend that needs Jesus, print this and lay it around randomly, join our mission and memorize the gospel so that you can speak the truth of it, it does not matter how you share, but share it. Our responsibility as followers of Christ is to share the good news, which is the Gospel. Once someone hears this Gospel, God will take over in their lives from there. This message is so important that doing our part to get it into every nook and cranny of the world is critical.

Mark 1:17 “And Jesus said to them, Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

If you read this entire message, I thank you and know that God loves you. This message did not find it’s way to you today by accident. The pain we feel here today due to sin is temporary. Following Jesus and living out the Gospel ensures us eternal life in heaven after this world.
